Business-Oriented Threat Involving ‘Several Types of Malware All at Once’ Remains Active
A recent malware campaign, which prompted an FBI alert in April, has now been found to have targeted over 200 organizations worldwide in more than 10,000 attacks. The campaign involves various types of malware, including cryptominers and keyloggers, and primarily targets enterprises that provide business-to-business (B2B) products and services. While the focus of the attacks appears to be on financial gain through cryptocurrency mining, the presence of other harmful malware poses a significant risk to businesses. The majority of the attacks were observed in Russia, Saudi Arabia, Vietnam, Brazil, and Romania. Cybersecurity researchers urge organizations to remain vigilant and take necessary precautions to protect their resources and data.
